This questionnaire is based on the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), a 21-question multiple-choice self-report inventory developed by prominent psychiatrist Aaron T. Beck in 1961. It is considered one of the most popular psychometric tests for assessing the severity of depression.

This questionnaire is intended for people over the age of 13. It includes questions about physical symptoms such as fatigue, weight loss, and lack of interest in sex as well as cognitive symptoms like guilt or thoughts of being punished. Health care practitioners and researchers frequently use the BDI test as an assessment tool in a wide range of contexts.
