If you are looking for some motivational speeches or inspirational quotes to uplift your mood, this website won’t help you.

If you are looking for a shortcut to success and productivity, I’m sorry to disappoint, but you won’t find it here.

I am not a motivational speaker or a self-help expert. I was just as disappointed with the self-help industry as you were. This led me on a journey of research and self-discovery that took me 20 years. Most of the strategies and techniques I tried were useless, but a few of them changed my life in a big way.

I have a toolbox of strategies and methods that are based on research, personal experience, and other people’s experience. I’ve gathered the best of the best of personal growth and productivity methods, specifically for people struggling with procrastination.

This stuff really works. This is not some inspirational quotes to lift your mood for a day or two.

Don’t worry, I am not selling you anything.

If you’re tired of reading self-help books and articles and watching endless hours of inspirational YouTube videos, but your life hasn’t changed and your New Year’s resolution hasn’t lasted past the first month, this website is for you.

If you’re looking for a wholistic strategy with an array of scientific and experience-based tools that will help you lead a productive and efficient life, achieve work-life balance and manage your time efficiently, you are in the right place.

Sam David founder of Proactivity Lab

Me in a Nutshell

My name is Sam David. I am the founder of “Proactivity Lab,” a website that provides comprehensive strategies and resources for understanding and overcoming procrastination.

The website’s resources are the culmination of more than 20 years of research and experience, during which I embarked on a long and gruelling journey of study and self-discovery.

Being a former procrastinator myself, it took me years of investigation and numerous trials and errors to gain a clear understanding of the underlying causes of procrastination and the most effective and scientifically supported strategies to permanently conquer the vicious cycle of procrastination.

I would like to share my knowledge with you, for free.

My journey led me to believe that the self-development industry is mostly a fraud.

I was a nerdy introvert who struggled with daily life. I severely lacked organizational skills and discipline. I was a mere shell of myself, a loner who spent much of his time in his room reading random stuff or sitting in front of the computer watching random videos.

I had few life goals and almost no motivation. I didn’t exercise; I ate poorly; and I couldn’t build productive and sustainable habits. Yet, I was, like many of you, seeking the ultimate formula that would save me from my miserable life and kick-start my transformation and personal growth.

Naturally, I bought into those motivation gurus and self-help experts promising transformation and change with little effort, through “groundbreaking strategies” and “well-kept” life hacks. That’s when my journey towards self-development began.

Needless to say, I was very disappointed by the outcomes, because to be honest, there weren’t any, just more disappointment and hopelessness.

My life remained unchanged, if not deteriorated in some ways; I was more depressed than ever, and I was still stuck in my old bad habits. I still had goals but no means to achieve them. I felt trapped in my own mind.

Throughout my journey, I’ve read numerous self-help books and articles, browsed through countless self-development websites, and experimented with various methods and techniques while I observed people around me doing the same.

After years of trial and error, I came to the conclusion that most of the self-help industry is one big hoax.

Let me tell you about some of the biggest self-help scams I encountered on my journey.

The self-development industry has given the word “development” a bad name by making a mockery of itself and its most prominent figures, along with their extravagant promises of instant and effortless improvement through some so-called “proven methods”.

Some examples are the famous auto-suggestion method founded by French pharmacist Émile Couéby or the outlandish “Silva method”, claiming that followers of the method acquired psychic abilities such as clairvoyance.

Others try to change people’s lives by giving them more traditional tips, like quotes and motivational talks.

Oftentimes, we encounter arguments dressed up in pseudoscientific theories.

The so-called “Law of Attraction” promoted by author Rhonda Byrnes in her book “The Secret”, claiming that the person’s thoughts have pure energy that can attract prosperity, growth, health, and wealth. Obviously, the author, who has a net worth of $100 million, attracted her share of wealth, but it’s unclear whether her followers did as well.

Honestly, just like a lot of people, I got naively excited by these overgenerous promises of health, wealth, and happiness. I watched “The Secret” documentary dozens of times and took notes meticulously. I began my path by thinking positively, visualizing, and affirming myself every day as I waited for the promised prosperity.

Needless to say, I attracted nothing but further disappointment.

And then, of course, there are those motivational speeches and quotes, swarming the web, telling you: “be stronger than your excuses”, “it always seems impossible until it’s done”, ” the sky is not the limit, it’s just the beginning”.

Don’t get me wrong, these quotes are great. I like them and share them with friends and family, but I have no expectation of their ability to make any significant, long-lasting difference in my life. They are just nice uplifting words, nothing more.

Most “self-help” books and ideas frequently fall short of being truly useful and instead serve only to make individuals feel good about themselves. This is done on purpose because the more generic the advice, the more people are willing to purchase the promise.

Sorry to break it to you: there is no shortcut.

Years of trials and errors led me to the realization that the majority of hacks touted as quick and ground-breaking ways to break bad habits or foster growth are mostly a bunch of BS.

These methods might help you shed some pounds or eat healthier for a week, or perhaps a month, if you’re lucky, but your new found habit usually melts down like an ice-cream on a sunny day, along with the elusive motivation behind it.

Real change is not easy

Don’t get me wrong, some of these methods may be very useful, but they usually don’t offer much as standalone tools.

Why? Because change is not easy. It involves multiple factors, such as environment, genetics, personality traits, motivations, to name but a few. So, breaking bad habits or forming new productive ones takes a lot of effort and dedication, and those telling you otherwise may be in pursuit of a quick buck.

On this website, I will give you proven and highly effective tools to overcome your chronic procrastination and lead a productive life in pursuit of your goals.
But I can’t do the job for you.

I can hear you saying, “I really want to change.”

But change is not simple. It is really challenging, in fact. Because no one has provided a means for the millions upon millions of self-help customers to achieve the changes they desire, the majority of people don’t change, and the self-help industry is thriving.

There wouldn’t be a self-help business, just one extremely wealthy guy, if someone had genuinely discovered the solution to the question, “How do people change?”

I am not reinventing the wheel here

Many of the techniques I propose are conventional wisdom. Others have been covered in books and even preached by self-development gurus, but let me tell you, the devil is in the details.

Strategies in this website are like gears that allow the engine to function properly. It’s the combination of tiny, medium-sized, and large-sized parts that makes the engine functional. Remove one part and the whole system collapses.

It’s the holistic combination of the tools and techniques that makes these strategies unique and efficient in bringing dramatic and lasting changes in your life.

But again, it really depends on your willingness to follow the plan.

One example of these tools I use for time management is the “pomodoro technique.” Well, I didn’t invent it. It’s already out there, but when used alone, this awesome tool seldom produces dramatic and long-term behavioral changes or huge shifts in productivity.

Cut to the chase: “what is the goddamned secret to self-growth?” You may be saying to yourself,

Let me tell you the secret: “there is no secret”. There is a strategy, a comprehensive plan, and a set of life-changing techniques and methods that are the result of 20 years of research, experience, and knowledge accumulation.

Please rest assured that I am not selling anything here. I just want to share my experience that benefited me and changed my life.

I went from a distracted, disorganized, helpless procrastinator to a whole new individual, someone with purpose and discipline who is driven by the power of productive habits and problem-solving skills rather than just motivation or inspiration.

I have not only found a good work-life balance, but also balance and harmony in all areas of my life.
